The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( KCCI) believes that transfer of official Is Governments prerogative and a routine administrative process. However, as an apex organisation it appreciates the support and cooperation it received from the officials it got an opportunity to work with closely while looking forward to work with the officials who are taking up their assignments. The KCCI takes this opportunity to commend the proactive role of Mr. Ajaz Assad Khan as the Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar. It was due to his strenuous efforts that the KCCI elections were conducted under his supervision after a gap of four and a half years. His role in putting KCCI back on rails will be long remembered. The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce would also like to put on record his easy approachability despite his hectic schedule and would resolve issues falling under his domain facing the trade. His on the spot orders to unlock the gates of Ali Jan Complex saved the livelihood of a large number of businesses and the employees working their in. Similarly, his keen interest in resolving the issues facing Shahre Khas particularly setting up of a Market on the lines of Sunday are laudable. The KCCI wishes him well in his new and important assignment he has moved to.
The KCCI got opportunity to work with the Mr. Athar Amir Khan during his tenure as Commissioner SMC/CEO Smart City and found him receptive and positive about the suggestions made by KCCI for development of Srinagar City particularly in restoring the heritage character of Shahre Khas. Same goes for the transformation the city has witnessed under Srinagar Smart City Project.KCCI believes that in his new role as Administrative Secretary Planning Department he has a larger role to play.
The KCCI also commends Syed Abid Rashid for his role as Secretary Tourism during which time he made tireless efforts for streamlining the registration and renewal of tourism service providers. The Department earned national and international acclaim during his tenure. The KCCI feels that his work is cut out to resolve the challenges facing Health and Medical Education.
